Hey guys it’s Tiffany!
Sorry it’s been so long since I have written. I have been really busy with school work and midterms (on top of being computerless for about a month) but I wanted to share a word with you guys.
I have been reading in Colossians and there is a verse that really jumped out at me today
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
You used to do these things when your life was still part of this world. But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. ~Colossians 3:5-8
The verse I really want to emphasize is verse 8 “But now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language.”
When we accept God we become new creatures (as you can read in most of Paul’s writings. Reading all of Colossians 3 will help understand this idea). So when we accept Christ, we are to put off our old selves, and put on our new robes of righteousness.
Maybe you are new to the Kingdom, maybe you have been saved for a while. Maybe you are not quite sure where you fit in. Whatever your standing is, ask God if there is something that needs to be changed. Because when you go from being a part of the world to part of His Kingdom, there is a HUGE change. We go from being citizens from a deathly sick and corrupted world, to a righteous and Holy Kingdom
This means that there needs to be changes in our lives. Whether it be our language, our friends, or our activities, there is some things that just need to change. Perhaps you have been saved, but never put off your old self… well the time is NOW.
I encourage you not to delay any longer. You will feel so much better once you do. And God knows it is hard, but remember, He has overcome the WORLD! He can help you, and He wants to help you. The Father of ALL CREATION wants to help you overcome the sin in your life, and the time to ask for help is NOW!
I want to encourage everyone, new believers and experienced believers alike, to ask God to open your eyes to what needs to change in your life.
And I want you to know, I’m not just asking yall to do it without doing it myself. God really has convicted me of something that seemed petty and unimportant, but when I did it again, the guilt was huge and I realized I needed to stop. And I feel so much better now.
I hope that yall are able to do this, and get closer to your Heavenly Father as well.
So yesterday I got this profound message from a penny on the ground. I wrote about it in full on my blog, which you can find HERE.
But the gist of the message was that no matter what happens to you in life, no matter what mistakes you may make, God still loves you no matter what. There is nothing you can do that will make Him love you any less.
You are His precious child, and He loves you dearly. All you have to do is accept His love for you. Nothing you can do, will diminish the value He places on you.
Hope this helps encourage someone today!
You, yes you. Every person reading this. You are beautiful. Inside and out. The creator of this earth made you with his hands. Look around at everything, and then look at yourself. How could you say you’re not?
We all have insecurities, every single one of us. So I know how you feel if your feeling worthless right now, if your feeling your not meant for anything, if your feeling as if your not beautiful. I understand.
But you are. I am. The person sitting next to you in class today. That guy you passed while getting on the train, all of them. They’re beautiful, priceless, masterpieces of God’s own hands.
Don’t beat yourself up over how you look. Don’t compare yourself to society, or other people. God made you the way you are. The world’s best artist put you together. Not only are you beautiful, but you mean so much to him, to this world, and to me. All of you.
God has a plan for each and every one of us. Sure, we get worried and stressed, wondering how things could ever turn out right. We may wonder if our future will become clearer in time, instead of just staring into darkness wondering where life will take us. But God has everything planned out. He knows everything that is going to happen. He, is writing your story. So stop stressing, relax, pray about your worries, and move on. Enjoy your life. Right now, enjoy the moment your living in, and don’t always be focusing on the future. (or the past.) Because if your focusing on any other time than in the present, you may regret all the time you’ve wasted. And once you do, you can’t turn back.
So realize that your beautiful, and embrace it. Know that God has a plan for you, and breathe. Everything is going to be okay. You’re in God’s hands, the best place to be.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he’ll lead your paths straight.
Isaiah 64:8 - But now, O Lord, You are our father; We are the clay, and you our potter; We are all the work of your hand.
Jeremiah 29:11-14 - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future, and a hope. Then you will call upon me and go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried you captive.
Proverbs 16:9 - In his heart, a man plans his course. But the Lord, determines his steps.
Song of Solomon 4:7 - You are all fair, my love, there is no spot in you
Ephesians 1:6-7 Holy Bible NIV
Hey guys, let me start with God is amazing and I love you all. God is amazing so this last weekend was ATF (Acquire The Fire a youth event) in Sacramento CA. I was excited for what the Lord had planned for the weekend because I just know HE AND NOT THE EVENT BUT HE WAS GOING TO DO GREAT THINGS, I just knew that lives would be changed by the knowledge of what hes done. This event was an encouragement for me because as you know I am in the ministry and I went this weekend as a leader and man did Joel Johnson just really speak to us at the Youth Pastor section of the event. God was really just ministering to me to keep going in all i’m doing for him. This event was really powerful and I saw some me lives touch and some many people just giving their lives to Jesus and worshiping him whole-heartedly.
My walk: I am doing great in the Lord but I know I can do better. I know that I just have to keep in prayer and reading of the Word so that I can help and encourage others in their walk as well.
Revival Challenge(Family): So one of the lives that was won in Jesus name is my sister Latanya Mcgee who I asked for prayer about just the other day. She accepted Jesus on Friday. Praise God and I just know it’s going to be hard for her to keep going (as it is for all of us) but it’s a good thing we have Jesus. My decleration for revival over my family has had it’s first victory. There are four others in this house hold, three who are old enough to make that choice to follow him. I commit My Mom (Tanya), Cousin (Nicole), and Little brother (Markise) to this challenge for revival. I will not stop praying for them until they have all accepted Jesus. So in my house their are six of us; Me and my sister (the followers of Christ) those three and my baby brother not old enough to really know what accepting Jesus means but I do declare that he goes up in a house dedicated to the Lord.
So I just ask that you guys keep me and my family in your prayers. Also come share with me your faith stories or prayer requests.
Grace Peace and God Bless
